Best Running shoes for beach runs in 2020
Apart from beach volleyball, did you know that you can also run on the beach, in case you don’t have any friends to play with? Striding while on your bare foot could hurt, so we suggest to start looking for an excellent running shoes for beach runs.
As beautiful as a beach run may seem, running on sand is far more challenging than it sounds. But overcoming this hardship, and getting used to the soft, sandy terrain will bestow your physique with great rewards. Running on the beach is not only a pleasant experience but also enhances your physical prowess. Moreover, it could give you more workout options, so you don’t just run in your safe-zone.
Running on the beach, especially on dry sand, is more strenuous than running on pavement. The added resistance from the sand forces your muscles to work harder, which raises your heart rate faster. This handicap makes beach runs an incredible workout to add to your summer routine.
Running barefoot on the sand allows your feet to move through its natural range of motion, which strengthens your feet and ankles. However, running barefoot on the beach too fast and frequently can lead to several injuries. Muscles stretch longer than they would on a harder surface, and without enough support from shoes, it can lead to plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains, or Achilles injuries. Moreover, beaches tend to have a lot of shells and other sharp objects, and you need to watch out for them.
With all these in mind, experienced beach runners recommend wearing shoes that provide enough support and protection, especially when you’re a beach run newbie. While there are no specific shoes crafted for beach running, there are certain features to you need to make sure are present on your new footwear. Some of these include:

Having run several marathons myself, I was intrigued by what you had to say about running on the beach. I found that if you run between the dry sand and waves washing up on the shore, it is quite stable and you can run easily on it as it is firm. I liked the sound of the slip on water shoes and the other ones which allow the water to floe through yet maintaining keeping your feet dry.
Very neat stuff! Never realized there’d be shoes for running on the beach but they make a product for everything these days, don’t they? Makes me wish I was living near the beach right now, especially with all the snow going on. But I do plan to return to the beach eventually, and knowing I have these options is quite useful! Thank you!
What an interesting article! I didn’t know that there were shoes for running on sand, although it’s true that the conditions are very different from running on asphalt or in the mountains. A few months ago, I moved from living in the mountains to being very close to the beach. Running on the sand seems a bit tiring, but it’s true that with the right shoes it can be a fantastic experience. I’m looking forward to trying out the experience of running on sand!
